Mahabharata

Prologue...

Neitze will say,"God is dead!" I don't think it matters. Essentially existence is meaningless. One time no different than another. Rulers come and go. I met all of the rulers of my physical time and found them all the same. The position requires a certain set of tragic flaws. The position of philosopher also requires its own tragedies.

I won't tell you any story in particular. The Mahabharata makes it clear that all of these stories were told in each time. Set the scene. Make the stakes clear and add the complexity of human emotion.

I said nothing new in my time. I roamed like a diletante from court to court. My major contribution may have been to popular music of the late 20th century. But that still may have been no different from a snake sacrifice 6000 years ago.

I am nothing to this story. I won't even tell it. Saunti can tell it better than I. Even if he were to tell the story of the French Revolution, it would be more insightful and vivid.

There is no reality in narrative. I am not trying to make a point. There is no before and after. There is no Great Navigator defining the currents of his time. The best the leader can do is pursue the tide of human suffering. Even then, he is but a figurehead. An aimless Narcisist claiming victory is his eventual defeat.

There is nothing more profound than nothing. And we come from nothing and arrive at nothing. And despite all our suffering... "Health is in You!"
